Vice Admiral Krishna Swaminathan assumed charge as Chief of Staff, Western Naval Command, on November 4, 2021. Commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 1, 1987, Admiral Swaminathan is a specialist in Communication and Electronic Warfare and an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla; the Joint Services Command and Staff College, Shrivenham, United Kingdom; the College of Naval Warfare, Karanja; and the United States Naval War College, NewPort, Rhode Island, USA.
Rear Admiral Lochan Singh Pathania takes over as Joint Chief Hydrographer, at the National Hydrographic Office, Dehradun. Commissioned in the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy in 1990, he specialised in Hydrography.
The Flag Officer is a graduate of Naval Academy, Defence Services Staff College (DSSC), Wellington and College of Defence Management (CDM), Secunderabad. He has been the Principal Director at Directorate of Hydrography at the Integrated Headquarters, New Delhi and Officer-in-Charge at the National Hydrographic Office, Dehradun prior to taking charge as the Joint Chief Hydrographer.
