The first terminals are expected to be available by end of June 2023
Orbit Communications Systems Ltd. - a leading global provider of maritime and airborne SATCOM terminals, tracking ground station solutions, and mission-critical airborne audio management systems - announces that its OceanTRx4 WGX highly reliable maritime terminals are in the final stage of testing to support Inmarsat’s Global Xpress (GX) satellites and Mil-Ka as well as Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) ready. The first terminals are expected to be available by June 2023. Furthermore, upgrade kits for existing deployed systems will also be available for customers who prefer to upgrade their OceanTRx systems to support GX.
OceanTRx4 WGX operates across commercial and military Ka-bands through a 1.15 cm (4’) antenna, fully integrated with GX compatible modem (SMB 3315), electronics and software. The small-footprint terminals are coupled with high performance and Orbit’s industry-leading reliability, enabling a wide range of communication opportunities for a wide range of navy vessels.
Built to fulfill the “anytime, anywhere” connectivity needs of the military and governmental markets, OceanTRx4 WGX provides outstanding RF and tracking performance under the harshest environmental conditions.
The fast and easily installed system also supports connectivity over GEO and HEO and is CAT 1 and CAT 4 compliant.
