Indian Naval Ship Trishul concluded her port call at Civitavecchia, Italy, on October 28, 2026, as part of her ongoing operational deployment in the Mediterranean Sea. The port call provided an opportunity to further strengthen maritime engagement between the Indian Navy and the Italian Navy through professional interactions, cross-deck visits and cultural exchanges.

During her stay, INS Trishul undertook a series of professional and cultural interactions with Italian counterparts. The ship was also opened to visitors, attracting a large number of enthusiastic members of the Indian diaspora and the local populace.

As part of the professional interactions, the Commanding Officer of INS Trishul called on the Fleet Commander of the Italian Navy. The ship's crew also visited the Italian Navy's aircraft carrier ITS Cavour at Civitavecchia. These engagements provided opportunities for professional interaction and an exchange of experiences between the two navies.

Ms Vani Rao, Ambassador of India to Italy, and Vice Admiral Aurelio De Carolis, Fleet Commander and CINCNAV, Italian Navy, visited INS Trishul and interacted with the ship's crew. They also attended a cultural event hosted onboard, which brought together the Mayor of Civitavecchia, senior officers of the Italian Navy and Coast Guard, Defence Envoys from 13 nations, civil dignitaries and members of the Indian diaspora. The event provided a platform for interaction among naval representatives, diplomatic officials and members of the wider community, further complementing the professional engagements during the port call.

The port call reflected the enduring maritime partnership between India and Italy and the importance of sustained naval engagement in fostering mutual understanding and professional ties. INS Trishul has now proceeded for the next phase of her operational deployment in the Mediterranean Sea.
