Future wars will be shaped by Tech, Economy, Diplomacy: Rajnath Singh at Ran Samwad

Two, very engaging and truly stimulating days at Army War College, Mhow for Ran Samwad 2025 – the first Tri-Service seminar on the Impact of Technology on Warfare.

What made this different was not just the presence of the Defence Minister, CDS, Service Chiefs, senior commanders, industry, academia and think tanks, but the fact that serving soldiers — young and mid-level officers — were placed at the centre of the conversation. Their insights on drones, AI, cyber, space, precision weapons, logistics and information warfare brought a practitioner's clarity to the bigger picture.

The release of new Joint Doctrines and the Technology Perspective & Capability Roadmap was another milestone — anchoring India's transition towards a future-ready, multi-domain force.

General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff, set the tone when he said "technology now defines the character of war, and future battlefields will not recognise service boundaries." He called for joint responses across domains, powered by Atmanirbharta and integrated logistics.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reminded us that "future wars will be shaped as much by technology, economy and diplomacy as by military power." A powerful reminder that national security today is a whole-of-nation effort.

The release of new Joint Doctrines and the Technology Perspective & Capability Roadmap was another milestone — anchoring India's transition towards a future-ready, multi-domain force.

Ran Samwad was more than a seminar. It was a platform where wisdom and fresh thinking met – where Shaastra (knowledge) and Shastra (weaponry) came together, and where India's Armed Forces showed their determination to stay ahead in a rapidly changing world.
