The day two of the eight edition of Admiral's Cup Sailing Regatta 2017 saw twelve fiercely fought races at Marakkar Watermanship Training Centre (MWTC) on the banks of the picturesque Kavvai backwaters at Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala today, Monday, December 4, 2017. The day saw all participating team members from Group A, B, C and D competing for the coveted 'Admirals Cup' . Warrant Officer Pavel Sozykin from Russia is presently leading followed by Lieutenant Alisa Kiriluk also from Russia in close second and Cadet Praveen Prabhakar from Indian Naval Academy, India at third position at the end of race day 1.
The participating countries team officers in charges was taken on a conducted tour of academic faculties and laboratories, Warship Simulator, Weapon Training Centre, Sail Training Centre, Firing Range, Sports Facilities, Equitation Training Centre, Cadets Mess, Cadets Squadrons and Aquatics Complex at INA and were aquatinted with the training aspects, training facilities and the sporting facility. The Officer in Charges of the participating countries also called on Vice Admiral SV Bhokare, AVSM, YSM, NM, Commandant at his office and exchanged mementos and Admirals Cup memorabilia. The official press conference of the participating team officers in charges with national and regional media firms was also conducted prior to the start of the competitive race.
